Hate to say it but this thread is pretty darn spot on. I went into this all excited to replace my Gen 9 Si. Saw an Si, drove the Acura version. Just not convinced yet that I’d wind up with enough better car to justify a $20,000 update. Type S? We have fast if I want that today. Fast cars have their drawbacks too.
Either version will be a great car for many, for some the perfect tool for their needs. But some of us need more scoot. Type S? We’ll see someday what another $7K can get you, but that’s not the car I need. Soon anything piston powered will be out of the discussion as far as speed. Soccer moms in electric SUVs can out accelerate you badly in any straight line.
But I still want to shoot around in a quick smaller car that is at least sorta economical. If nothing else when gas gets scarce.
Maybe have a thread for “I tried the Honda/Integra but got X instead” so we can know our options as newer models come along. The ghost of the boy racer Integra lives, just not in showrooms right now.

I just posted something in this forum last night that was basically the same conundrum. I ended up getting a GTI just yesterday. Loving it so far, though it’s not my first so I had a good sense of it already.

I’m sure it was a tough decision, you too seemed very onboard with the Honda product.
I personally avoid anything German but see the appeal of your choice. Happy Motoring!
