It sure is but I guess Acura figured that most buyers won't care.
Which trim were you hoping to get? Would you go for the 6MT transmission?

Welcome to the forum @Steve V yeah the CVT is not ideal at all, just like the WRX. Hopefully Acura does add the DCT in a Type S model at the very least.

I am 55 years old now and not in the mood for the shifting anymore, especially with traffic increasing on a daily basis on my commute to work, i appreciate the need for it as the enthusiasts love the manual, but in all honesty the dual clutch auto transmissions works great, especially with the paddle shifters, i use it all the time to slow the car down, or drop it a few gears to pass cars, gives you some sense of control with the auto...i would wait for the type S and pray it comes with the dual clutch auto.

That’s not the base mod dude if you knew anything about acura you would know , A spec tech is the best trim before type s

No yellow, oof. Ideally, I wanted a little more power than the civic. But since the auto is still a CVT there’s basically no reason to go integra over the civic hatch when it has the better boost blue and a more intentional interior (was not a fan of the awkward reskin of the civic interior spy shots). Ventilated seats, which I’m already giving up hope on, and maybe 21 HP will not be enough to justify the price difference (given what they pulled out of the Si). I’ll be shocked if you get the level of equipment in the sub $30K sport touring civic hatch, in anything but the a-spec tech at the rate things have been trickling out.

Gentlemen it’s been an honor. I was excited for the possibilities here when they debuted it. But it’s becoming obvious they didn’t want to do any engineering beyond a basic badge job.

We currently have a 2018 Si. Great car but wife was not thrilled with the Honda badge. Or the red color. Very good service from the dealer. My only complaint is the seats. Bit flimsy. Currently worth almost what we paid for it new. The new Civics look bland. I personally like coupes but they're dead in the market. Foolish for Honda to pull heated seats from the Si. That's a deal killer for anyone who has ever had them in winter. Hatchbacks/liftbacks are more practical and look better than sedans. The Integra looks good and will have the new safety features. If it has the 6MT and heated seats in white we're good to go. Extra soundproofing would be nice. Don't need any "tech" upgrades or super wide/large wheels. Worth a small premium over the Si. What does white pearl / red mean? (Is red the interior color?)

I'm very interested in ordering an A spec Tech model with the manual transmission but worry that very few of those will be offered, as three quarters of the models to be on offer will apparently have only the CVT...

Call an Acura dealer and let them know you're interested. Mine said there is a waiting list and put me on it.

The point of the pre-orders is for Acura to plan initial production. Doesn't matter that there are 3 other choices. What does matter is if the manual is available on the base configuration. Along with heated seats.

Agreed, it's not unheard of for car companies to change things around based on pre-orders or customers speaking up. Ford changed some things around when they launched the Bronco because customers wanted the bigger tires to be available with the manual transmission.

I don't care much for yellow, but my wish list for Type S is essentially a Civic Type R with SH-AWD
