Here's a great graphic that outlines the differences between the Integra's trim levels.
I think so! I know that engineer in a prior post said something about future production being based on the take rate of initial preorders, so curious to see how it shakes outoh, interesting, I'm assuming the percentage numbers in each of the bubbles is what Acura expects to build/sell of each trim?
I bet they can increase base models if/when manual becomes an option for it. 10% is much lower than I thought.I think so! I know that engineer in a prior post said something about future production being based on the take rate of initial preorders, so curious to see how it shakes out
Base models on most cars sell pretty poorly -- they're there to advertise a low price and for people that are strapped, but what really moves is loaded trims. Car shoppers love the bells & whistles (myself included).I bet they can increase base models if/when manual becomes an option for it. 10% is much lower than I thought.
Good point, I bet that's even more true with premium automakers like Acura. All the base C300's running around had me thinking otherwise.Base models on most cars sell pretty poorly -- they're there to advertise a low price and for people that are strapped, but what really moves is loaded trims. Well actually on MB they sell a bit better, because there's so many posers that just want to lease a basic MB and drive the badge around. I test drove a base A220 and it was honestly kinda pathetic.Good point, I bet that's even more true with premium automakers like Acura. All the base C300's running around had me thinking otherwise.
Your feedback of the A220 reminds me of what I heard about the CLA, but the latest generation doesn't seem so bad.Well actually on MB they sell a bit better, because there's so many posers that just want to lease a basic MB and drive the badge around. I actually went in to test the CLA250, but there were zero on the lot, so I drove the similar A220 and didn't like it at all.Your feedback of the A220 reminds me of what I heard about the CLA, but the latest generation doesn't seem so bad.
Did you test any other premium sporty compact cars?
Funny you mention Mazda 3, I'm also considering it and absolutely love how upscale it is compared to other Japanese compacts in the segment.I actually went in to test the CLA250, but there were zero on the lot, so I drove the similar A220 and didn't like it at all.
I plan on driving the new A3, and I've driven the new GTI (amazing handling and power, but kind of small and hated the interior's infotainment -- no buttons) and the Mazda 3 Turbo hatchback (loved the interior and exterior, loved the power and AWD, but the rear seat is kind of tight and the ride a bit firm). I doubt I'll go A3, as it's too pricey, so I'm likely to go between the new Integra and the Mazda 3.
I think in some ways the Mazda may be nicer actually, but I'll reserve judgement until I sit in the Integra. I currently own a 2017 Mazda3 hatch and love the interior/exterior and the steering and handling, but would love some extra power too.Funny you mention Mazda 3, I'm also considering it and absolutely love how upscale it is compared to other Japanese compacts in the segment.
The interior is also just as nice as the Integra's!

Mazda has lately been very reliable, ever since they divorced Ford. Consumer Reports has ranked them either #1 or #2 for dependability, just as Honda took a hit in those surveys...so I'd say it's likely about a wash these days. I've even known Toyota owners to have some issues. After my ‘93 Mazda B2600i Manual trans truck nearly tripped the lemon law limit, and hearing the same horror stories from friends with other Mazda models, I would not dare hope for reliability from that brand. The Miata is an exception to an extent. They seem to run so hot. The valve cover wouldn’t stay on. I disclosed all and sold it to a mechanic.
Yup people like to think they'll go with the base model but as soon as they see a model with all the features the tune usually changes haha.Base models on most cars sell pretty poorly -- they're there to advertise a low price and for people that are strapped, but what really moves is loaded trims. Mazda has really upped their design game over years, both on the outside and inside. As far as interior quality goes it should be a benchmark for the Integra.Funny you mention Mazda 3, I'm also considering it and absolutely love how upscale it is compared to other Japanese compacts in the segment.

The Mk VIII GTI is an amazing car and a good value. Handles better than the Mk VII (I drive a 2017 6MT currently). Yes, VW is taking heat for the infotainment, but new owners are mostly fine after a few days of a learning curve. I'm strongly considering the A-Spec Tech vs the Mk VIII, but have to see/drive first.I actually went in to test the CLA250, but there were zero on the lot, so I drove the similar A220 and didn't like it at all.

Welcome to the forum @john.com! Yeah VW really shot themselves in the foot with their infotainment system. Have you had your Mk VII GTI since new?The Mk VIII GTI is an amazing car and a good value. Yes. Before buying my current GTI, I also considered the Miata and BRZ. I'm 65 years old and have owned/leased some two dozen or so cars over my lifetime thus far, three quarters being MT's. I had a Mk I Rabbit GTI back in the day. Traded it after 18 months for the first year Honda CRX Si (1985-had to have that car- what a lousy car deal I made) and began a string of Honda cars. How are you liking the 6MT? Great choice of cars. Are you going to try out the new Civic in manual? I don't think the Integra should be far off, at most the gear ratios might be slightly different but still very much the same.Yes. Before buying my current GTI, I also considered the Miata and BRZ.
