2023 Integra Maintenance

2374 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  netesd
Got my first maintenance recommended email at 3,567 miles with 60% oil life while I was traveling for the holidays. A1 service code showed on the dash and I just got the car serviced at 5,200 miles with 50% oil life. Dash now shows 100% oil life and B service code.
How do I know when the next service is due? I’ll get another email? Or will that service code change to something else?

Hey @Mbraun95 welcome to the forum. This should give you an idea of what each of the service codes mean. How has your Integra been treating you?

Main CodeDescription
AReplace engine oil
BApplies to one or more of the following: Replace engine oil and filter, inspect brakes, check steering components, inspect suspension components, check driveshaft boots, check fluid levels, inspect exhaust system, inspect brake hoses or lines

Sub CodesDescription
1Rotate tires
2Replace air cleaner element, replace dust and pollen filter, inspect drive belt
3Replace transmission fluid
4Replace spark plugs, replace timing belt, inspect water pump and valve clearance
5Replace engine coolant
6Replace rear differential fluid (if equipped)

Thanks for the reply! I’ve been loving it. It’s my first new car I’ve purchased and gives just the right amount of luxury and a perfect amount of performance I was looking for. Appreciate the link above but it doesn’t quite answer my question. Is service only supposed to be performed based on the oil life % when below 15%? And the letter doesn’t apply immediately to a needed service but only to the next service?

Since the first oil change is A and service is included with the Integra, do we know if the dealer is going to leave the filter in place and only replace the oil. I suspect that this may be the case since Acura is prescribing just the oil replace. Is that a great idea to leave the filter with all the break in stuff in the media, around for another 5k till the B service?
I mean, there's a RISK that the dealer may be shady and not replace the filter..... but an oil change implies changing the filter. If your dealer doesn't do it, find another dealership.
It is technically not a question of being shady. Service A is oil only, no filter change - per honda
Okay? Except you don't change oil without changing the filter.
Obviously normal people dont. And if you pay a honda dealer for an oil change on A or B service they will always change oil and filter. But since the Integra service is included, I think Acura/Honda will only reimburse the dealer for oil an an A service. On B service I assume they will cover both. So we may have to pay for the filter every other service out of pocket if we want both changed by the dealer every time.
Just had my first service this week. When taking the car in, I spoke with the service manager to ask if I was reading correctly that Code A does not include the oil filter. His response was that I am reading it correctly but he would have the filter replaced anyway. He said I don’t know why they spec it that way; we always replace the filter. This tells me that it depends on the dealership and how conscientious they are.

Just went in for first service, stated the concern that service A does not involve filter change, dealer said they will certainly replace the filter. Not even a question. I also complained that my steering wheel was closer to 1 o'clock from day 1 than 12. They came back and said that my car is the first Integra to get an alignment and that they have to enter specs manually into the alignment rack's computer. I was surprised to hear that, they ended up making the wheel a bit better but not 100%. Just sharing my first service experience. The whole experience was free. Coffee at no charge, the snack basket that was there previously is gone and replaced by pop corn machine.

Just checked my oil level looks like they overfilled it. Gosh, makes me want to cry, really can't even add oil correctly? Now I have to go back, have them drain some out. It would be so much easier to just do it myself, but it's free and under warranty. Hopefully overfill is not significant and didn't cause any leaks or damage. I have revved it pretty hard.
