According to date from Edmunds Acura has the 5th highest dealer markup on new cars in the car industry at 3.4% over asking price. That's more than double the industry average of 1.6%.
And remember that the reservation deposits are refundable. Also, be prepared to walk away if your dealer doesn't live up to his agreed pricing down the road.Same here. If I can't find a dealer that will honor the MSRP I'm waiting. There's going to be some insane markups when the Integra arrives.
You're absolutely correct. Every dealer's an independent franchisee. I spent 17 years in internet sales in the automotive industry as a second career before retiring a couple of years ago. The landscape has changed immensely over the last year with covid and the chip shortage, but there's no reason to accept a bad deal. There are a lot of dealers out there and a fair deal for you and the dealership can be found. It should help to try a few other Acura dealers if that's the case, they all operate differently.
