Hi everyone, thanks for having me!

My name is Jonathon Rivers, the Lead Product Planner for the 5th Generation Acura Integra.

I've been with the company for +12 years and have worked on a number of exciting products including NC1 NSX and TLX Type S, but none of them compare to the experience of reviving this iconic nameplate!

For someone that learned to drive manual on a '98 Integra GSR, it's a car that holds a special place in my heart.

I'd love to tell you more about how we designed & developed this next-gen Integra.

So please join me next Thursday, June 16th for a Q&A session. I'll be on throughout the day (pacific time) and will try and answer all of your questions. Of course, there's some limitations on what I can disclose. At least if I want to keep my job :).

I look forward to chatting with you all next week!

JR

***Note from the Admins: Add your questions now! Jonathon will be responding throughout the day Thursday, but early birds will be a the front of the line!

Hey @Jonathon_Rivers, glad to have you here!

Are you driving a new Integra at the moment? I know many companies often have a fleet of them especially for those heading up development, along with engineers. So just curious if that's true for you as well.

Can't wait for the 16th :)

This is exciting!
Something I've been wondering about is whether there were any vehicles you guys benchmarked for driving dynamics.
I'm curious about whether the target was contemporary compact luxury cars, or older sport compacts (like previous Integra).

@Jonathon_Rivers thanks for doing this - you forced me out of lurking 😆

There was a ton of speculation about what the body style would be, right up to the reveal of the Prototype. Is there any chance we'll see a 2/3-door?
And if you can't answer that, maybe you could talk about whether other body styles were considered and how you settled on a 4/5-door lift-back?

Can't remember if it was Jon Ikea or Jonathon that confirmed there would be no coupe for this generation Integra...it may have been in Motor Trend, but I do remember reading it.

Enjoying our new white 6 MT. Had it a week now. Still getting used to the safety features. How 'bout a YouTube video? (LKAS, ACC etc) And can we shut off the auto stop in the individual mode? Thanx

What's the biggest challenge you faced?

BTW...I am SUPER thankful that you're doing this for the community.

Also grateful that Acura brought the Integra name back from the dead. I thought we saw the last of it with the DC5 that was really known as an 'RSX' just about everywhere outside of Japan..

Thank you for joining! I'm sure it's gonna be an awesome time for everyone; this is a rare opportunity I never thought I would get. I dearly love the car and admittedly there were just a couple of things on my mind.

- What was the inspiration behind the shape/the look of the Integra's taillights? They have a unique style to them that deviates from the TLX and MDX but still complements the car so well.

- Now that the production model has hit the streets, which part of the car's development process was the most fun for you and your team? Can you share with us about the rewarding moments that you'd look back on and say that you're the most proud of?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions, Jonathon!

Were there any goals for this 5th generation Integra that led to decisions in the development of the shared platform?

You may not be able to answer this question, but I’ll ask it anyway, though I will try to be as tactful and non-specific as I can!

Are you able to tell us whether any future planned variants of the Integra (specifically those equipped with internal combustion engines) will also have a manual transmission option? Thanks so much again for doing this!

Mr. Rivers,
While Acura does offer a roof mounted bicycle accessory option for this Integra there are many owners that may prefer a rear hitch mounted alternative.
How can those that want to go that route now determine if the rear impact bar is the same as the one on the Civic(71530-TBA-A10) and therefore be able to install the available Civic hitches?

A question from Jaime Leonard, a member of our FB group

"When will they make white exterior with black interior on the aspec tech package? I’ve been calling around all over Chicago and nobody has them yet. Seems as though he they haven’t even been made yet. Just doesn’t make sense to me."
