Anyone else disappointed in the lack of luxury features in the upcoming Integra Type-S?

I don't think anyone was more excited for the type-s as I was. My 1st car was an Integra and after test driving the Aspec Tech Pack I just knew once the Type-S released it would be the perfect car for me. I mean I'm still super excited. Once Acura released the photos and the specs I thought as long as this car is under 50k it will be the perfect daily for me and the others who want Type-R performance but Acura luxury.

After seeing every early YouTube review thus far, I must say I am a little bummed out about the car. I love what Acura has done with the appearance and the exhaust! But the interior is where i feel Acura missed the mark. Why couldn't we just get an Aspec with the engine and exterior upgrades? I know not having a sunroof would make the car lighter, however i feel most Acura owners would prefer a sunroof at the cost of the car being slightly heavier. Acura also decided to make the passenger seat manual and get rid of the memory seat option for the driver, which I found very disappointing. I liked the LEDs in the Type-R but i guess i can live without them. Also was it necessary to get rid of the middle seat in the back? I was actually thinking Acura would add rear vents on the Type-S, instead they decided not to and took away the rear USB's. With no folding mirrors and ventilated seats I'm starting to wonder if this is technically a luxury car with it only being a slight upgrade from what the Type-R offers tech wise. I really don't understand why we can't get the cool +R mode display and log display. I can't see how the software would be cost cutting if it already exists in the Type-R.

I know it sounds like I'm really bashing the car when in reality I love it, and really want one. I just feel Acura got rid of some of the creature comforts their buyers were expecting. Stuff that was already included in the Aspec Tech Package. Overall Acura did a great job on the car, and I can't wait to drive it. Maybe in a refresh some of these features will be added back? But who knows!

That is one of the biggest reasons why I think this will be priced lower than everyone thinks, even to the point of being equal or less than the CTR. I think pricing it $46-50k like rumors say makes it dead in the water when you can pick up something like a Golf R, S3/S4 or spend a little bit more and get into M340i territory. Personally I could add the rear usb back into the car, swap the rear seat/belt out with a standard car(I don’t have to but should be easy to do) and be ok. Sunroof isn’t a deal breaker, the memory seats kinda sucks but I’m the only one that would drive it so not end of the world. Manual passenger seat is kinda BS and my other half wouldn’t like that(she hated that in my Challenger).
All in all if it’s priced low to mid 40’s I’m all in, anything higher and I’m going to have reservations. At that point I’ll likely just keep my A-Spec and do a tires, clutch and tune which added to the mods I already have should be fun enough.

I mean I'm content with it as is if it comes in lower than expected (40-43k). I just find it hard to believe that they would give us that price with the CTR being so expensive this year. If the FL5 was priced around the price of the FK8 I could definitely see the Type-S coming in around 42K. But Honda selling a Civic over 40k is still crazy to me lol. The Problem with the S3/S4 is i don't think you can get that in manual. The M340i is in a whole different price range and the golf R is not a good looking car in my opinion. This car had the potential to be the perfect car for someone like me in my 30's who enjoyed Honda's but wanted to level up to something that is a little more luxurious that i can shift gears in (manual transmision) that is somewhat affordable (under 50k for me) . It's really not a lot of choices when it comes to what i'm looking for. 10 years ago I would be extatic with all the manual options but it's a new generation for cars now lol.

How do add the middle seat back? If I do get this integra that's something I would be interested in doing. Also, how do you add the rear usb's?

just have to get the rear seat assembly and belt out of a regular Integra that’s been wrecked, same with the usb. Swap parts over. At leas that would be the least expensive way to go.

I'm with you on the sunroof, as i would have preferred it. The memory seating, it's not a big deal either, and i actually like that the passenger is manual, so as not to burn out as i tend to take naps on that side in my acuras currently. But agree with the other interior parts....

I’m extremely saddened by lack of premium features. If I traded in my brand new Aspec tech 6mt my dealer would only give me $30k for it. I was originally on the list for their car but I removed myself. The price tag is too much for me and I think Acura needs to include more features other cars in that tier have. The S is almost $10k above my expectations of what the price would be. Plus my dealer said they are charging a $5k markup too. In total everything is $30k over my current Integra 2023s trade in value. Basically double my car’s value . To sacrifice the moonroof, the 5th back seat, the back seat usb chargers- I mean, I would understand if the car was less money and lacking all of that. But it’s close to $60k and missing so much of what the car I just paid $40k for includes. ( I did also pay $3500 for the rims and accessories) I’m hoping Acura adds everything I would want to have included. If they do I will reconsider my trade.

i wouldn’t mind lacking features had this car costed much much less! It’s the fact that this new S would cost nearly double theaspec 6mt tech trade in value that gets me. That’s close to a $30k jump!! And kills me to not havemoonroof. I use it daily in nice weather and like the sunlight in the cabin. Very frustrated with the pricing.

Glad I'm not the only one missing the moonroof. Been debating too as well, if it's better just to get the aspec 6mt over the type s...just cause of cost.

Yea, i just feel like the took steps back which doesn't warrant the 15k price difference in my opinion. If they want to cut back on features i feel like it should have been priced 41-43k.

Aspec is a better value, minus the fact it doesn't look as good and not as fast as the type-s.
