howdy folks,

Soon to be Integra owner here, and being from upstate NY i'm thinking of optioning the heated steering wheel. i can't seem to find a good photo of the different wheel, but it looks kind of awkward where they put the switch at the wheels 6 oclock position. Does anyone have the heated s.w. option? How do you like it? Pics would be greatly appreciated

Kind regards

Hi @nutsadamus welcome to the forum! Here's a good look at what the steering wheel looks like. It's not in the most conventional spot but I think it'll be awkward once you get used to it.

How are you going to spec the rest of your Integra?

Thanks for the replies. I'm not liking the button placement at all. I did some digging and found out its the same location used for the Canadian spec civics. Read a post on the civic forum that the heated wheel isn't that useful because it takes a while to heat up, which is also slightly disappointing. We get some pretty freaking cold winters here though, and it's not crazy expensive...I guess I'm still on the fence.

I was momentarily in the same boat. Not exactly a fan of the placement -- I like the empty space between the metal-trimmed bottom spokes -- but I am still leaning towards having that functionality.
This 💯… as someone pointed out in another post, there is a blank button spot to the left of the steering wheel! 🤦🏻‍♂️

So I just got the heated steering wheel put on (not a fan of the big button, but went for functionality over form on this one) and I have the red interior so my old steering wheel had red stitching but now the new one has black? Does someone know if the dealership messed up or do all of the heated steering wheels come with black stitching?

I am glad you asked this, and I'm curious to see what the dealership says. I took a look at the installation instructions; if I'm reading things correctly, it appears that the installation utilizes the existing steering wheel, not just swapping it out for a new one:

However, I'll defer to others here if they know differently than I do. But on its surface, perhaps they had a steering wheel with black stitching ready to go and they just swapped it out?

I realize this is a pretty minor detail but I'm in the same boat as you. The matching red stitching is a cool detail in the red interior, and losing that on the steering wheel in exchange for the heating functionality (big clunky button aside) is actually a drag. Let us know what you find out.

Standard option in Canada 🇨🇦 (actually heats up pretty quickly) will report in the winter lol
Stoked that you get it standard up there, though I'm still a little peeved that Honda/Acura decided to not only make the heated steering a dealer option with an additional charge down here, but they also ended up nerfing the amenities in the Civic Si to make the Integra more attractive to U.S. buyers in general. Florida buyers might not car about heated seats, but I know I'm gonna want it come wintertime in New England!

Damn you, automakers, and your silly "marketing" and "need to turn a profit" lol

UPDATE: very disappointing news, so apparently in the US market the heated steering wheel only comes with universal black stitching. Other markets where it's standard equipment will have interior matched stitching. Not gonna lie I'm pretty annoyed to find this out after the fact, but I know in time I'll grow to let it pass. I will say I am very pleased with the actual function of the heating element because it heats up fast and it goes around the whole steering wheel instead of certain portions like other ones do. Hope this helps someone in the future!

Thank you for letting us know! Although... that kinda blows tbh. For anyone with the orchid or red interiors, that is kind of a bummer. Makes me want to look more closely at a black interior.

For those that DO have the heated steering wheel, how is the heating? I'm thinking about getting one to put in myself, but not sure it's worth the money and hassle..... especially given how anemic the heated seats are.
