Dealer says they don’t see my reservation in their system

Made a reservation on March 11th on Acura’s website.

I reserved with the same dealer. I called them yesterday since I heard that people were getting calls from their dealers, they told me they would be calling us folks who reserved once they had more info like price and stock dates. They also refused to comment on whether they were going to add a dealer markup. Now I’m wondering if I should call them and verify my reservation, or cancel it and make a new reservation with a different dealer?

Welcome to the forum guys

@Deltayo be sure to let us know what happens when you visit your dealer. That doesn't make sense that you got a confirmation email and it's not showing up anywhere. Hopefully it's just a delay or something with the dealer's system.

@ghostdog I'd call them to see if they can confirm your reservation or if they give you the same response they gave to Deltayo.

After digging around and talking to some sales people at different dealers I have a theory. I assume Acura is using the reservations to drive early production and allocation of the first units. The dealer doesn’t get your info until Acura allocates them a car that matches your reserved color/trim/trans.

Not much to do besides wait I guess

You might be on to something there. Before I put in my reservation, I went and talked to the sales manager at my dealership and he mentioned that if I waited much longer to reserve a car. I might not take delivery until next year due to the limited number of allocations they had left for 2022 between their two stores. Part of the reason I went to talk to them was that I thought was strange that my reservation went through their Missouri store and I was unable to select their Kansas store even thought they are the same distance from my house (we are right on the state lines here in Kansas city) and my next option for a reservation was in Wichita KS
Same thing happened to me as well. At first, the dealer didn't find my reservation at all. I told them I got charged and provided them the screenshot of it along with the last 4 of the card, and that's when they apparently matched the credit card transaction. They also said that the reservation came in without my name or any contact information. The manager said he's going to order it but he's already placed 5 orders. I'm really hoping I get that NFT and that Acura can fix this issue.

For what it's worth, I made reservations within a few hours of them releasing the reservation online.
Another update: Acura does not handle transactions themselves, so there is no way a dealer won't know you made a reservation - the dealer is the one who charges you. The payment for my reservation was charged by "AUTO NATION STEVENS CREEK" so I called their sales team again to try and confirm that they had my reservation. As soon as I asked to confirm my reservation the sales person (gave his name as Ali) gave me a bunch of attitude, refused to even attempt to check or verify anything, and even told me that it was impossible and they had no details. To which I responded: "fine I'd like to cancel my reservation, then". He gave me the same bullshit about it being impossible and that he had no information on reservations etc. and told me to contact Acura. I contacted Acura customer support and they verified my original assumption (the dealer is the one who charges you) and told me to either ask for a manger at auto nation, or contact my credit card comapny.

Fuck auto nation. I've initiated a chargeback, they can deal with my credit card company.

I've made a new reservation with Hopkins Acura in Redwood City. This morning I called and spoke to Gilbert on the sales team, but it was pretty early and no managers were in yet and asked if he could text me later on. Just now he texted me back saying they've reviewed my integra order and verified the reservation payment went through.

I realize that making a new reservation this late might mean that I will have to wait longer, possibly months, to get my car. I don't really care - at least I'll be dealing with a cool dealer.

Don’t have the luxury to wait for my next day off, so I tried contacting them to get the Sales Manager’s contact. Of course they gave me the runaround and asking for my contact information so they can relay it to them. I know the game, they’ll just throw it in the garbage can. They probably didn’t even write it down. I went ahead and initiated a chargeback. Might as well get the process started sooner than later. I decided to try contacting Acura of Pleasanton and getting a reservation through them. Much nicer people on the phone, off the get go. They recommend I come in person to make sure I get what I want, nice. However they did told me that I should try and get my current reservation cancelled first, since I might not be able to make another reservation if I already have one “active”.

@ghostdog, did you have any issues placing your reservation in Redwood City?
I placed it through the website then called the dealer after a couple days. I technically have two active reservations, as I’m waiting for my credit card company to handle the refund from auto nation. I think you’re right that it puts one at risk of both reservations being cancelled by some anti-abuse measure at acura, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take.
So I too reserved on the 15th at Auto Nation Steven's Creek and they too gave me the run around as well. The only thing I got different from you guys is one sales guy asked the manager for how many orders is there that they visibly see and it was a total of 16 and none with my name on it. Another thing is they told me that the reason why they don't see a reservation on the car is because I'm probably not on the 1st wave of cars and most likely the 2nd wave.

After work, I'm going to Acura Fremont to see what they say and maybe reserve with them the way Deltayo did with his dealership.

My dealership says they got my reservation, I use to work with one of the salesperson. The General Sales Manager guesses it will probably be July, but again he says he has no info of when it will come in for sure. I assume our NFT number might say how soon we get it? For example, gets delivered in order of reservations?

Which Integra model and how did you spec it?
Include it in The 2023 Acura Integra Reservation Tracking List

No thanks data collection creeps me out
I reserved with Acura of Oakland online on launch week 15th. Bypassed Acura Pleasanton, due to being a smaller volume dealer and no awards from Honda/Acura. Called the following Friday and got the manager who said they have not received the car build lists from Acura. Called again the 20th and he saw me on the couple page list with my specs of 25+ cars. Looking like no markup at MSRP.

No idea what the wait time will be. I mean there are 273 Acura dealerships. If preorders are at least 20 each, that's 6825 cars +/-.
