I commented on the video as well, this video is fantastically entertaining and well done despite the fact that it is a completely meaningless comparison. So it gets outdragged in the 1/4 mile, who cares? You could tell that based on reading the specs. I didn't buy the Integra to be a red light warrior, and Acura didn't design it to be either. You're also comparing it to the N version of the Elantra and the Jetta GLI, so it is unfair to conclude that because the Integra is last it has somehow failed. Wait for the Type S and if that still disappoints, so be it. It still doesn't change why I bought my Integra and what I like about it.

Next up Hagertty will pit a mclaren, a Shelby cobra and a Honda Odyssey to see which one really has it all. Like seriously. The gli and N are literally the performance trim models. Pit them against the new Honda type r and there’s your baseline. The integra is a civic. And it still beat the last integra type r which was lighter. Some people can find a flaw no matter what

Although I'm mostly in agreement with this being kind of silly (while still being amusing), I can kinda-sorta see the logic. The whole thing about the "base" A-Spec Integra is that it's "tHe SaMe As ThE cIvIc Si" -- and by that logic, I can see how you'd put the Integra here. C&D did an Elantra N vs. Civic Si vs. Jetta GLI comparison test (and they finished first, second, third, in that order, FWIW), so it make sense to group them together, kinda. Performance-trimmed sedans with an available stick. (And even in the C&D comparison, although the Civic Si was dinged for being slower than the other two cars, they still enjoyed it and it outscored the GLI.)

The Elantra N seriously outguns the other two; I feel like it's going to occupy a kind of performance middle ground between trouncing these two but perhaps being outmatched by the CTR and the GR Corolla -- curious to see how that all pans out once they are all out in the world. But hey, if there's gonna be an Integra Type-S, and the base/A-spec starts where the legendary ITR left off, I'm pretty happy about all of that!

Yeah, and the Civic Si is the performance trim of the Civic. A base Elantra is 147hp and a base Jetta is 158hp, just like a base Civic. So I think the GLI and Elantra N are fair comparisons. VW and Hyundai increased performance quite a bit. Honda could have targeted a faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile and built a different car, but they didn't. That's fine. Honda has their priorities, decided on this drivetrain, and it's totally fair to judge it on performance. It's not the most important thing to me, but it sure is easy to show on YouTube!
