There are degrees of modification.

I buy cars set up like I need for a certain purpose so I’ll do little more than floor mats, license plate frame and radar detector mount with power tap. Have other cars if we want faster or cooler. An Integra is to replace our Si as a fun cross town ride, with a stick and moderate power for entertainment.

Some folks will learn to wrench on these innocent cars and will greatly decrease their value, but won’t care. I’ve modded them to where they could only be trailered to a track. Everyone should once. We all need a hobby.

In my mind I’m modding the car a bit. To a prospective buyer in a few or 15 years, my car will be “unmolested”.

Does adding an aftermarket sunroof deflector count as a mod? My last couple of Hondas generated way too much wind in the cabin with the sunroof open. My current Accord looks hideous with the deflector, as I installed the genuine Honda one which is unusually tall. The sunroof is unusable for me without it. I usually put all season floor + trunk mats as well. The trunk mat saved me when somehow a 1/2 gallon milk container burst in my trunk. The trunk mat contained the entire spill, and it was just a remove, rinse, dry, reinstall event instead of what might have been.

oh wait! How about a spare tire and jack kit?

Wind deflector - That’s an accessory, not a mod. A mod would be along the lines of, say, changing to racing seatbelts.
