Ugh. they have to ship these things some day, right?
I ended up paying an arm and a leg, but driving without a spare doenst sit well with me. I think a combo of junk yard parts could work well. At least the tools can be sourced there for a fraction. And if you can find an accord or a civic, likely to get a cheap donut.

It's part "1" in the parts list. So it's $171.94 and the part #'s are:
  • 06421-3S5-A00
  • 06421-3S5-A10
Im not sure I follow. You’re saying the foam alone is $171.94 and 2 part numbers? If I wanted the wheel, jack, wrench, etc (everything but the rubber tire) what should I order? A00? A10? Both? Neither? A bunch of other parts?

maybe Honda will never actually ship the things and it won’t matter, but I’m still confused about what getting the full kit looks like.

I bought an accord wheel and tire from the scrap yard from a 2021- never used for 75.00.
i also bought a civic jack kit from a 2020 for 50.00. The place that i bought the spare from also threw in the hold down wing nut.
The accord wheel fit and spun freely, but there is very little clearance from the brake caliper, when i mounted on the front.

If you look at the diagram there's a line around everything w/ a reference number of "1", so that is the entire spare tire kit. It would be cheaper to buy the whole kit vs. the individual components, assuming the prices are accurate. That being said, if you purchased everything separately, excluding the tire, you would buy parts 2, 3, and 5-15 from the diagram.

Well that would make sense but @netesd bought just the foam and shared a pic. You replied to that and said it was $171 and listed two part numbers. So I asked because I didn’t understand what you were saying or if you knew something we didn’t.

Nobody’s been able to get the whole kit as one part yet. I followed the same thought process and ordered 06421-3S5-A00 last week. As expected, it’s back ordered. It’s not obvious to me what the difference is for A10, so I thought I’d ask. It shows up as the same price as A00. If you know, awesome. If you don’t know that’s cool too.

As an option - I called tire rack and bought a scratch and dent 17" rim that matches the OEM rim on the base model. Put a basic all season tire on there and I have a full size spare vs. a donut for $175. Only issue is the rim sits about an 1.5" higher than the floor in back when you drop the tire in the well. I have the all weather mat for the cargo area that covers the entire floor, and to be honest, you don't notice it. Bought a $40 jack kit on Amazon (very similar to what you get with modern spare) and I have a full size spare with no restrictions. This is another option if you can deal with the floor being raised ever so slightly.

Oh yeah, I thought I was replying to someone responding the to picture of the diagram. Sorry for the confusion! My guess the different part #'s are likely it being sourced from different suppliers. Possibly tied to a specific region, but again, just a guess. Or A10 is newer/different and A00 will be listed as discontinued at some point.

I am not sure what the problem is with the spare tire kits. I went to my dealer, Bernardi Acura of Boston, just over a week ago and they were able to order everything in the kit, if not the kit itself. Nothing was on the shelf at the dealer but everything arrived within four days. I did not order the wheel and tire because I already had these from Modern Spare. The only fussy part of installation was having to trim some thickness from the three pads on the foam insert where they touch the hub of the spare wheel. I had to trim 6 to 8 mm to have the foam insert sit flush around its perimeter.

I have a theory-

I Googled part numbers 06421-3S5-A00 and 06421-3S5-A10 a while back. In a lot of these drop-shop websites, there’s a footnote on some of these sites saying the tire is not included in the kit

Honda/Acura seem to be selling the kit without the tire now, which explains your quick turnaround
