Sticky Steering Wheel / Pull

690 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Integragurlxo
Is anyone experiencing their steering wheel becoming hard after a certain amount of mileage? I took it to the dealership and they ran all the computer stuff needed but they stated they found nothing wrong with it. I feel like I’m going crazy because the steering wheel pulls back it legit makes me swerve on the road to the point people are beeping at me because I’m swerving but it’s me fighting with the steering wheel to stop pull. It’s not the lane departure, nothing comes up I could be driving in a straight line and the wheel jerks and gets stuck. It’s honestly becoming scary for me and super dangerous

I've had my Integra for a little over a month and haven't hit a problem like this yet. Sounds bad.
There's some more discussion on a related thread - Sticky Steering Wheel
Hope you can find some answers!
It’s definitely scary, I could say it started after the 6k mile mark. I didn’t notice at first and it became more consistent and worse. Acura had no answers for me I made a complaint on the NHTSA site as well
Hey @Integragurlxo welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your issues with your Integra. Does it happen consistently? Or does it happen at random times?
Both. It could be random on one drive and consistent on another but it happens everytime I drive so it’s consistent on the occurrence

Is the steering electric or does it have a hydraulic pump? Many are going electric, my Ram has electric & sounds like the systems of possibly a faulty electronic part.

It's electric - Variable Ratio Electric Power-Assisted Rack-and-Pinion Steering (EPS)

This is a known problem. They need to fix it. Complain to the national highway transportation safety bureau. There are dozens of folks trying to get a recall.
