I'm actually thinking the black Integra in the video looks SWEET... I'm thinking if those fender A-Spec badges are just glued on, take those off the sides and the back, swap the Acura badging for black... sounds real sleek.

That said, Black/Black doesn't have much pizazz. But I did talk with a dealer expecting a Black/Red. That'd be sufficient pizazz.

I have no kids (well, none that aren't adult now) and I didn't go with Apex Blue, my first choice, for the same reason. Little difference between me and a toddler some days.

This is the one thing that has me thinking of cancelling my reservation and just waiting it out a few months. Not sure I necessarily want mine to be one of the first 100 or so that roll off the line.

Now that I'm starting to see these other color combos coming out, and it's looking like there's no priority on the ones we supposedly reserved, I'm thinking I'll just wait for what I really wanted, which is blue on black or grey on black. (Out of the available options I've seen so far.)

That red interior really does look great. I think the orchid looks beautiful in photos too, but yeah that would not age well.

Speaking of the white/red, I just emailed my dealer rep here in Tucson saying that if one of those comes up before my gray/red, I'd be okay with that. Here's his response:

I don't have access to the overall RSVPs of the store, but it has been an interesting way to go. Unfortunately, allocations of certain colors have recently prevented the customer to get what they RSVP'd for. We are scheduled to receive 3 MT units in Black on Black a week before yours is here. No white/red MT are allocated to us at this time, but one with the CVT has a deposit on it. Hope this information helps and will continue to keep you updated on the status of your Integra.

Black on black in the desert? Well, I'd probably do that if I had no other choice but I can certainly wait a week for the gray/red. I particularly thought the "it has been an interesting way to go" and "Unfortunately, allocations of certain colors have recently prevented the customer to get what they RSVP'd for" quotes are telling, though (emphasis added is mine).

From this I read mostly that early orders should be okay to be fulfilled in what they want, but more recent orders, maybe not so much.

So some sites say it was around 1% for 2021, but I'm not sure how reflective 2021 was for car sales overall. Carmax says 2.4% of their sales are for manuals, but what's Carmax reflective of? You're right though, if anything 2% is likely generous. Coupes make up a similar percentage of total sales in the US.

I saw another article that estimated 18% of Americans know how to drive a stick, and it makes me sad how small that number is... but I still think I'd only be willing to buy a used manual off a very small fraction of that 18%!

Just did a filtered search on cars.com to get a snapshot filtered on available new cars. Roughly 1% are manual.

Speaking of the white/red...

White/Red 6MT was my ideal spec before the reservation system opened, and I was ecstatic to find it was one of the few options we could reserve... unfortunately, my reservation dealership didn't get it in their first allocation and they still haven't. I managed to find one, but I did a lot of calling around without finding any White/Red.

I was surprised to see some in that video (and agree they look SWEET, got me very excited), it seems like it may not have been a popular option based on the reservation tracker (5.7%). That red interior has to be pretty polarizing (same with orchid, honestly), I was surprised to see 2/4 reservation options with it--I wonder how many red and orchid interiors Acura sells annually vs more traditional (muted?) options?

I wondered about this as well, and my theory/overgeneralization is that this may speak towards the general mindset of the average Integra 6MT buyer. We want something that leans towards sporty and fun, but we're also adults here -- we like our nice interiors, and maybe we're not trying to get the loudest car on the block, figuratively or literally (we have the Elantra N for that!). The red interior seems like a have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too option, in my eyes; it's splashy enough to make the new owner smile, but the exterior is still muted enough that you probably won't raise any eyebrows on a spirited drive. I'm sure some folks hate it, but I personally think it's kinda neat. I went with the Liquid Carbon Metallic on my reservation as it was kinda-sorta subtle, but the louder interior kinda offsets some of that. My lizard brain can't help but go "huh huh, racecar," even though my rational brain knows that's not really the case.

I will say that the white is growing on me a bit. I'd also be cool with black over red if it were available; the blue over red seems like a bit much, but hey -- the dang thing is proudly made in Ohio! If you can get that combo and want to lean into the 'Mericuh vibes, I can't hate.

The black interior is probably fine, and it's fair to say that it's perhaps a better choice than Orchid for a lot of us (kids/dogs/etc.), but it's visually less exciting, simply because it's very monochromatic. The Orchid interior might get dirty very easily, but it does have some panache. Contrasting seats and panels really make an impact, practicality be damned.

While hunting for a backup plan to my backup plan, I did come across 2 dealerships expecting Black/Red 6MT's, but neither had reserve dates and I couldn't justify a second date-less reservation with Acura now saying late summer for the 6MT. I'd be happy with Black/Red though.

I like the White/Red for the "Ok are you kidding me" element of the red interior, but it also has the Civic Si vibes I wanted. I came close to getting a 2020 and a 2022 Si, and appreciated the red and black contrast of the interior... but then I realized they didn't carry much of that over into the back seats. I get there's value in cost-cutting, but in a car that's no bigger than a broom closet, it really stands out.

I had a 2007 Si, and it had the Si exclusive red gauges and conspicuous red stitching in the front and back, and that was just about it. It felt sporty enough, sure they could've gone further, but at least it was continuous. The 2020 and 2022 felt like they were the Si in the front with the Civic Sedan in the back--really glad Acura didn't try something similar.

I was able to get the red exterior with a black interior. But there was no 'Performance Red' option in the forum.
I got the red by calling my dealership and luckily they only had 1 MT Integra coming in red unreserved, so I made the deposit.

No dealer markups or price adjustments which came out to $42.5k CAD + freight pdi.
In Canada, the top trim is called A-Spec Elite, and I believe we get some added features compared to the US.
Once more information comes out in Canada I get update you all.

Wow great find--I haven't asked any midwest dealers if they're expecting anything red, but none have had one with the 6MT, at least not without a reservation. Looking forward to seeing pictures!

Congrats and welcome! I ordered the same config with basically the same experience. I made a reservation very late with Blue/White.
when the dealer followed up I said I’d prefer Red/Black. Apparently they’re getting that soon, so it’s got my name on it!
