Has anyone experienced lid noise from moderate bumps as if it loose 🤔?

Hey @Zkbell313 welcome to the forum! Is it only bumps where you hear the noise or does it happen when you're driving at certain speeds? How long have you had your Integra for?

Only on bumps. As if the latch isn't fully tight. I got it a couple weeks ago. Also the trunk button doesn't unlatch the lid not sure if the 2 are related

Zk, I have a rattle over bumps that originates from the trunk area too. I have a suspicion that it’s the plastic housing for the taillight under the hatch. If I tap that, it makes a similar sound to the rattles I hear. Very audible and annoying over roads that aren’t smooth. Maybe if we add electric tape or something it’ll muffle it?

I took it to acura and they adjusted the hinge and bumpers. I think your right electrical tape or mastic rubber may fix it. It's pretty annoying still even after the adjustment

Damn, it’s frustrating that they weren’t able to do much. I’ll try throwing some layers of friction tape on it and under it and see if that helps, and if not I’ll try my luck with them too.

I'd be willing to bet it will be a recall since ita probably all integras with that issue

ZK - having similar problems myself. At highway speeds when there are small bumps in the pavement (i.e. expansion gaps). Been a problem since I've gotten the car. At 1000 miles now, no better no worse.
Brought it to the dealer, and after initially denying they heard anything, they blamed a small jump battery box in the trunk.
I've tightened the screws for the privacy screen arms, but to no use. Going to try and isolate the sound more this weekend.

So I experimented with electrical tape on the bottom U shaped part of the latch. 1 wrap on the entire section. It completely fixed the issue no sound whatsoever I imagine they should of put a rubber coating on it at the factory
Dude, thank you so much.
Did you wrap it along the entire U? or just the bottom portion of the U?
I tried the same and it seriously reduced (but not quite eliminated) the rattle. I'm left wondering if the latch isn't mounted low enough to create sufficient tension on the locking mechanism. I think I'm going to try some experiments with it.

So I had acura adjust the latch which helped but didn't fix it. Then I wrapped the entire u bolt in high quality electric tape 33 or 88 and boom gone

Will you leave it wrapped or take it to dealer for final fix? It’s not just your car, so I hope owners are making Acura aware. They need an actual fix!

I'm gonna leave it until they come up with permanent fix with a recall

Hey Guys,

Just got out of the dealership. After 4 hours, they figured out it was the truck latch and replaced it. Noise is gone.

Sad sidenote, they left the parking brake off and it rolled into a MDX, cracking my emblem and grille...They ordered the replacement parts and are fixing. So frustrating. Acura is killing me.

All my digging over the weekend produced no positive results. Rattle is still slightly there even w/ the electric tape. I have a service appointment at the dealer next week.

As posted over on another forum:

Having to use tape to solve a rattle didn't sit properly with me, so I took the Integra to the Acura dealer to have them resolve it. Naturally, I took my 3M 33 electrical tape off before bringing it there. They diagnosed the latch mechanism as the issue and they ordered a new one.

In the meantime, "The technician was able to temporarily resolve the rattling issue by using some tape around the hasp." Wonder where he got that idea? :p ROFL

If that tech from a Louisiana dealer is reading this -- dude, you're awesome as the foam tape you used completely got rid of the rattle. (vs the 3M 33 electrical tape which only reduced it.)
