LG V60 ThinQ w/ Android 12 here and having the same exact problems described above so often.
- Wireless Android Auto (AA) Works fine - may go days or weeks without issues
- Sometimes starts to get spotty cutting in and out and seems to be sensitive to nearby strong sources of RF.
- Drops and doesn't come back. Sometimes restarting the car or clearing the cache of AA fixes it. Sometimes restarting my phone's wifi or bluetooth fixes it.
- Have had to do full data clear and phone deletes from the car.
- Have also had to do full factory reset on the system to get it working.
Today on the way to work, it did it again. No amount of tinkering w/ AA or adding / deleting the phone from the head unit was resolving it.
(My work phone is an iPhone, and CarPlay worked fine.)
Last week, I contacted Acura and opened a case on this issue. They continued over and over to try and blame the phone as incompatible, when there had been no updates to the phone or head unit.

And they they were unable to explain how it worked almost flawlessly for 7 months and suddenly it's incompatible.
Anyway, during that call last week the media specialist instructed me on how to access the diagnostic mode on the factory radio. In that menu, I had noticed a backup of all settings option. So tonight in preparation for the full reset, I went into the diagnostics menu, and proceeded w/ a full backup. (Hadn't done this previously.)
At the end of the backup, the unit indicated it needed to complete a full restart (which it did). The restart looked very similar to the factory reset (same spinning circle, screen changes, etc.), but without altering any settings. On restart, I made one last try to initiate AA. And it worked immediately...
So, maybe all we need is just to reboot the factory head unit? I haven't seen any way to do a hard reboot without the factory reset or backup. Ideas?
Also - to enter Diagnostics Mode hold
Home + PWR + back (|<<) for about 3-5 seconds.
It looks like there is a lot of stuff in there that can be adjusted and/or screwed up, so if you fiddle and mess something up, it's not my fault. You've been warned.
