Driver seat squeak

Is anyone else having lots of squeaking that appears to be coming from the driver's seat? It's loud and annoying. Back seat passengers can clearly hear it.

It developed around the 1,200 mile mark and I'm at 1,500 now. Haven't had time to take it into the dealer yet.

We have squeaking from driver’s seat. It’s where the seat belt buckles in on the right side of the seat. If we wrap a towel around that it stops the squeak. Took to dealer who claims they couldn’t reproduce the squeak which is BS. They ordered new seat belt parts (on back order) to try to fix. We’ll see. I think it’s plastic pieces rubbing together to be honest. The area where that assembly is is much tighter on the driver’s side than the passenger’s.

This car has lot of squeaks and rattles from places where you just can't pin point. I thought I just got a poorly built one but it seems like many others experience it too. :(
With that said I had the same driver seat squeak awhile ago that I was able to fix.
SOLUTION: take a WD40 and grease the rail tracks underneath the seat that lets the seat move forward and back.
Squeak will come back after awhile. If that happens just grease it again then turn off the auto seat adjustment when you get in or get out of car.
You know the one where seat moves back when you turn off car or seat moves forward when you start the car
Mine hasn't squeaked again after I turned that off.
Hope this helps

I have the same issue. I bought the car in November 2022 and it has a little under 3k miles on it. Most of the time I drive short trips, but took it on a road trip this weekend. It became pronounced after driving for over 10-15 miles in distance. I went to the dealership yesterday and they are having me come back next week when a loaner vehicle is available.

I wonder if this is the same issue as the new Honda Civic Type R? There's a recall on that:

As of March 30, 2023, American Honda officially reached out to NHTSA and a stop sale was established along with a safety recall for some of the earliest 2023 models.

The sound issue stems from the construction of the seat's frame, the portion that marries the bucket seat itself to the car's floorboard. The problem goes well beyond just the annoying sounds—improper welds seem to be the culprit, and those could allow the seat to disengage from its mount during an accident, according to Honda Technical Service Bulletin 23-030.

The above is from this article: Squeaky Civic Type R Seats Move Beyond Annoying, Become Safety Issue's%20floorboard.

Has anyone had luck with a dealer diagnosing the problem on the seat squeak issue?

I finally took it to the dealer for my first service and asked them to look at the seat squeak (I also told them about the back trunk cover having a easy tendency to fall out of place in hot weather but that seems like a design flaw and not something they can fix - or replicate apparently).

They re-torqued the seat bolts but could not replicate the issue. I left the dealer and the squeak was as loud as ever. I was tempted to turn around and ask if someone could ride in the car with me but it had been an extremely long morning and I had other things I needed to do.

I tried WD40 on the rails but it made no difference unfortunately.

This seat squeaking is so loud (and sometimes inconsistent) it's ridiculous. I am kinda assuming that Acura has fixed the issue otherwise I would expect more people to be on these boards complaining about it. Such a great lesson to not buy a car in its first model year.

I took it to my dealership. They gave me a loaner and kept the car for 2 weeks. They took out the seat and had a local upholstery shop they regularly use work on it. I picked up the car and the noise was back the next day after 20 miles of using it, LOL.

I contacted them again and the manager is having me come back on Tuesday. They are asking from a rep directly from Acura to come check it out this time.

Hey guys,

I want to give you an update. This may be useful to others.

My Integra was bought in November of 2022. It currently has a little over 3k miles o it. I don't drive it much. If I did...the noise would bother me a lot more.

The dealership is awesome and has been helpful.

First attempt: they couldn't replicate the sound so I drove it with a tech in the driver seat. For me, it's a lot more noticeable after driving for several miles. They kept the car for 2 weeks and gave me a loaner. They dropped it at the upholstery shop they used. They also 'fixed' the dimples I had on the lumbar support. I found out the dimples are on ALL Integras, even the new ones. I got the car back and after 20 miles, the sound reappeared.

Second attempt: the manager contacted Acura Field Support and had their rep out. They fixed this in a day. I dropped the car off at 8AM and got the call by 3PM. They said they added a cloth covering against the seat frame and a piece of plastic that was rubbing.

Third attempt (where we are now): I dropped off the car last week. The manager had ordered a new seat and frame to install. He called me yesterday saying the completely took the seat apart and saw a plastic piece that was broken up (see attached picture). He thinks it's a design flaw and contacted corporate. This info may be useful to you if you're getting push back from your local dealership. He said he should have a solution by next week.

I'm not active on car boards as I was in my 20s when I modified every car I had. I'll do my best to come back and report. I can see people trying to lemon this for sure.

RE: complaining about it. Only a small % of owners are on message boards. They probably do it in real life. This is worse than any wind noise/dash rattles.

I agree. It is ridiculous. Now that we are in the summer months, I've noticed the seat squeak is not as loud as the cooler months (where I live cooler means 60-65 degrees and summer means 70-80 degrees so not much difference). I tried contacting Acura and as expected only received a worthless, we rely on our dealer networks, response. Will keep trying.

Has anyone had any success fixing their seat squeak? I need to find time to try another dealer. One that hopefully is willing to troubleshoot and help. If I can't get this fixed before the warranty ends, I'll probably be searching junk yards for driver seats.

If the manual transmission were not so much fun to drive, I would have sold the car. I was hoping sharing the platform with the Civic SI would have worked the kinks out. Never buy a first year car.
